MaintWiz: Innovating Industrial AI

MaintWiz TPM module

MaintWiz vs Fabrico and TeepTrak: 8 OEE Software Tools Compared for TPM

Short answer

MaintWiz, an AI CMMS built for TPM, measures OEE by equipment, line and plant and carries the routines that remove the loss: tags, planned maintenance, quality, 5S, Kaizen, safety and training. Fabrico and TeepTrak read machine signals to measure OEE and losses, and Fabrico adds planned maintenance.

Measuring the loss is the first half of the job: MaintWiz also carries the routines that remove it.

How MaintWiz helps: MaintWiz, an AI CMMS built for TPM, brings all eight pillars, 5S, OEE, Kaizen and OPL together, captures records on mobile, raises work orders automatically from IoT signals and manages safety through ePTW. MaintWiz maps each TPM pillar to a module, with dashboards that show open items, closed items and losses. Menus, roles and entitlements are set per customer. Key takeaways

  • Fabrico states OEE from machine signals with micro-stop detection, usage-based preventive maintenance and SAP PM sync; TeepTrak states automatic OEE down to 2-minute micro-stops and an operator stop-reason tablet.
  • Fabrico states a Kaizen tool and 5S checklists; neither states a tag register, training or safety module on the public pages read.
  • MaintWiz holds OEE by equipment, line and plant, a downtime report by category and type, and the pillar routines on the same equipment list.
  • MaintWiz measures the loss and carries the routines that remove it, on one equipment list.

8 tools

OEE software compared: 8 tools

Most OEE software counts stops and ranks losses. A Total Productive Maintenance plant needs that count, then the work that removes each loss: work orders, tags, 5S, Kaizen and training on the same equipment list. Here are eight tools side by side on exactly those points.

MaintWiz measures OEE by equipment, line and plant and runs the pillar routines that remove the loss, on your own line.

They state

What do Fabrico's and TeepTrak's public pages state?

Fabrico's OEE page describes run and stop states read from PLCs, IoT sensors and cameras on new or legacy lines, with micro-stops, reason codes and losses valued in money. Its preventive maintenance page describes work orders triggered by run hours or cycle counts, master PM templates across a group and a two-way sync with SAP PM.

TeepTrak describes automatic OEE and loss capture down to 2-minute micro-stops, an operator tablet for stop reasons and automatic Pareto charts. MaintWiz measures OEE by equipment, line and plant and carries the routines that remove the loss.

MaintWiz OEE

How MaintWiz handles OEE

MaintWiz records OEE inputs by shift in the production log, with capacity and loss masters, and shows OEE per equipment with loss stratification, a daily OEE view and a lost-hours Pareto. A downtime report splits unplanned, planned and performance loss by category and type, and OEE rolls up from equipment to line and plant by planned time. Operators enter stops and counts on a mobile device or terminal; MaintWiz can connect IoT, MES, SCADA, PLC and DCS sources.

The difference is what comes next. The same downtime reason codes drive the downtime report and the cost of a lost hour, and the pillar teams remove the largest loss with tags, planned maintenance, quality and Kaizen routines on the same equipment list. MaintWiz OEE software shows the lost-hours Pareto and OEE by month together (Figure 2).

Figure 3. OEE counts the loss and each loss goes to the pillar routine that removes it: breakdowns to planned maintenance work orders, minor stops to efuda tags, chronic losses to Kobetsu Kaizen and defects to Hinshitsu Hozen.

What comes next

What does the OEE-first route need next?

An OEE tool answers where the minutes went. The next questions are who owns each loss, what stops it happening again and how the fix is checked. In TPM those questions are answered by routines: a tag raised when an operator finds the abnormality, a planned maintenance task on the equipment that causes the stops, a quality record for the rejects, a 5S and standards check on the line, a Kaizen idea sheet for the improvement and a training record for the people who carry it out.

On the public pages read, neither Fabrico nor TeepTrak states a tag register, training or safety routine, so a plant that starts with either tool adds them elsewhere and keeps two equipment lists in step. A plant that starts with MaintWiz has the loss list and the routines on one list, and each loss code points to the pillar that removes it.

In a MaintWiz demo, see a top-three loss become an owned action with a date, a micro-stop pattern reach a PM task, and 5S, training and safety run for the same line.

Alternative?

Is MaintWiz an alternative to Fabrico or TeepTrak?

Yes, for a plant that wants the whole Total Productive Maintenance programme: MaintWiz measures OEE by equipment, line and plant and carries the tag, planned maintenance, quality, 5S, Kaizen, safety and training routines on one equipment list.

Start with MaintWiz

Start with MaintWiz when you want the loss and the routines that remove it in one place: tags and 5S in the pilot area, planned maintenance for the critical equipment, quality and safety records beside them, all with a dashboard. Easy Excel uploads and a 6 to 8 week roll-out guided by the MaintWiz implementation team get the TPM live. Operators enter stops and counts on a mobile device or terminal; MaintWiz can connect IoT, MES, SCADA, PLC and DCS sources.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is MaintWiz better than Fabrico for TPM?

For the whole programme, MaintWiz covers more: all eight pillars plus 5S, OEE, Kaizen and one point lessons. Fabrico's public pages state machine-signal OEE, usage-based preventive maintenance and SAP PM sync.

What is the difference between TeepTrak and MaintWiz?

TeepTrak states automatic OEE and loss capture down to 2-minute micro-stops with an operator stop-reason tablet. MaintWiz measures OEE and also carries the TPM routines that remove the loss: tags, planned maintenance, quality, 5S, Kaizen, safety and training.

Does MaintWiz measure OEE from machine signals?

MaintWiz can connect IoT, MES, SCADA, PLC and DCS sources, and where a line is not connected, operators enter stops and counts on a mobile device or terminal. Either way OEE shows by equipment, line and plant, with the lost-hours Pareto and the downtime report.

Do Fabrico or TeepTrak have 5S, tags or Kaizen?

Fabrico's pages read on 7 November 2026 state a Kaizen tool with a loss Pareto and 5S checklists, and TeepTrak's state AI root-cause analysis to prioritise Kaizen. Neither states an abnormality tag register, training or safety module. MaintWiz has the abnormality register, 5S audits with a compliance dashboard and a Kaizen idea sheet.

Which is cheaper?

Compare the full cost of the TPM you need, not the OEE tool alone. MaintWiz quotes the whole TPM programme in one quote; compare three-year cost with the free cost planner, which sets an OEE-only route and a whole-TPM route side by side.

What is the best OEE software for a TPM plant?

The one that measures the loss and also runs the work that removes it. OEE tools capture stops and rank losses; a TPM plant also needs work orders, tags, 5S, Kaizen and training on the same equipment list. MaintWiz holds OEE by equipment, line and plant with a lost-hours Pareto, plus all eight pillars.
