Key takeaways
- Twenty-one tools were checked on their own public pages on 2 November 2026; most evidence TPM in one to six areas, not the whole programme.
- Most tools evidence only part of the TPM programme: some the work orders, some the operator routine, some the machine-signal loss. MaintWiz is the AI CMMS that states all of it in one product.
- Weever states 6 of 12 TPM areas, The Leansuite 5, Fabrico 2, MaintainX and TeepTrak 1 each; MaintWiz states 12 of 12, each with its own dashboard.
- See all eight pillars run on your own equipment list and pilot area in a MaintWiz demo.

Book a demoTPM was developed in Japan and is promoted by JIPM. It is a management system that removes equipment losses through eight pillars (autonomous maintenance, focused improvement, planned maintenance, quality maintenance, education and training, safety, health and environment, early equipment management, and office TPM), built on 5S and measured with OEE. Software counts as TPM software when it carries the records of those routines: tags to closure, step audits, planned work, loss data, training and safety records.
Many products carry some of those records. The question for a buyer is how many of them one product carries, because every extra tool is another set of equipment lists, users and reports. The six big losses and the eight pillars give the yardstick used on this page (Figure 2).

Which TPM pillars do six representative tools cover?
The matrix shows what each vendor's own pages state, with feature detail. A tick means feature-level evidence; "partly" means a claim or a template without a workflow; "not stated" means nothing on the public pages read. MaintWiz is shown as stated on its product pages.

How to read the matrix
Weever and The Leansuite state operator routines; MaintainX states a scheduler and mobile checklists; Fabrico and TeepTrak state machine-signal OEE. Of the six tools in the matrix, MaintWiz is the only one whose public pages state every area in one product. Where a tool partners with a CMMS or an OEE system, a plant buys and connects two or three products to match the pillars MaintWiz carries in one CMMS.
Each group
What does each group of tools cover?
- A CMMS with a TPM page (MaintWiz is compared with MaintainX, Fiix and others): work orders and preventive maintenance, with TPM as a use case. See MaintWiz vs MaintainX.
- A CMMS with all eight pillars (MaintWiz): the tags, the planned work, the OEE loss and the safety, quality and training records in one CMMS, with a dashboard for each.
- Operator-routine apps (Weever, The Leansuite): checklists, 5S, skills and safety observations for the shop floor. See MaintWiz vs Weever.
- Machine-signal OEE (Fabrico, TeepTrak): OEE and loss capture read from the machine. See MaintWiz vs Fabrico and TeepTrak.
- Enterprise asset management (Maximo, Hexagon): enterprise assets, procurement and permits.
Demo tests
What should you test in a MaintWiz demo?
Bring your pilot area and run each test on your own equipment list.
Tests by situation
| Your situation | What to test in the MaintWiz demo |
|---|---|
| Starting TPM with a pilot area and no system | Load an equipment list from Excel, raise a tag on a phone, see it on the pillar dashboard |
| Operators run checklists and maintenance runs a CMMS today | Does a failed check reach a work order without re-keying, on one equipment list? |
| Line loss unknown | Does the loss list lead to an owner and an action, and to the pillar routine that removes it? |
| Work orders and parts are the first need | Price per user against the TPM routines you also want, with tags, 5S and Kaizen on the same list |
| Enterprise-wide asset system already in place | How the TPM layer connects: MaintWiz uses SAP PM and MM web services |
Why MaintWiz
Why choose MaintWiz for a full TPM programme?
- An AI CMMS built for TPM. Work orders and planned maintenance sit in the same CMMS as all eight pillars plus 5S, OEE, Kaizen and one point lessons, each with a clickable dashboard.
- Tags to closure and planned work together. The abnormality register has tabs for open, closed, completed, auditee work completed, cancelled and non-conformance records, and a tag can become a work order.
- Safety inside the TPM record. Incident reporting, BBSO, near miss observations, a SHE dashboard and electronic permit to work for the safety pillar.
- Early equipment management and office TPM through MP sheets and an office TPM view, which none of the other 20 tools state on their public pages, as read on 2 November 2026.
- Training and TPM Central. Training records and TPM Central (the programme plan, goals, events and documents) stay in MaintWiz.
- Fast start. Easy Excel uploads and a 6 to 8 week roll-out of the entire TPM, with guided project management from the MaintWiz implementation team; SAP PM and MM connect by web services.
- Proof on your own data. Bring your equipment list and one month of tags and stops, and see your own plant in MaintWiz.

Questions
What to ask every vendor
- Which of the eight pillars, 5S, OEE, Kaizen and one point lessons will the pilot area use, and where does each record live?
- How does an operator's finding reach maintenance and get closed, and who sees it overdue?
- Where does OEE come from (machine signal or shift entry), and who owns the top three losses?
- How many products and logins does the pilot need in total, and what is the three-year cost? Use the buyer's guide and TCO planner and the RFP scorecard.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do TPM software tools compare?
On their public pages read 2 November 2026, MaintWiz states all 12 TPM areas, Weever 6, The Leansuite 5, Fabrico 2, and MaintainX and TeepTrak 1 each. The 21 tools fall into six groups by TPM depth; MaintWiz is the AI CMMS built for TPM that runs all eight pillars.
Which TPM software covers all eight pillars?
MaintWiz states and shows all eight pillars, 5S, OEE, Kaizen and one point lessons, each with its own dashboard. Where a vendor claims all eight pillars in one sentence, ask to see features for each pillar in a demo.
Which TPM areas do most tools leave out?
Early equipment management and office TPM: of the six tools in the matrix only MaintWiz states them, through MP sheets and an office TPM view. Quality maintenance is stated in full only by MaintWiz; the others state it in part or not at all.
Do I need machine-signal OEE for TPM?
No. MaintWiz captures OEE per equipment with reason codes and a downtime report, and connects IoT, MES, SCADA, PLC and DCS sources where lines are connected; IoT signals raise work orders automatically.
How long does a TPM software rollout take?
The entire TPM can be rolled out in 6 to 8 weeks with MaintWiz, with easy Excel uploads and guided project management from the MaintWiz implementation team.
